For three years before John was shown the Plan he worked 10-12 hours, seven days a week, without a single day off, in what John calls a “big-time rut.” John had an MBA, and operated three real estate offices on California's Monterey Peninsula. Maria was his secretary and property manager. “We've always had fun with our Amway business from the first home meeting,” says John, “the bigger the meetings got the more fun we had.”

The idea of putting in the work and effort into my business and being compensated for it was really appealing to me. But we could never have foreseen how critical our Amway business would be years later in helping our daughter Gina with our two beautiful grandsons: JT (John-Tyler and Andrew,  both diagnosed with autism.
